Promotes and arranges placements for senior managers, teachers, teaching assistants, lecturers and Connexions staff into industrial and business environments. Staff have the opportunity to update and widen their knowledge of specific jobs and careers across various organisations.
Placements can focus on management issues or facilitate teacher learning opportunities, curriculum/resource development and careers advice.
They are linked to specific subject areas, such as Science, Geography, Business, Creative & Media, ICT, Health & Social Care, Manufacturing & Engineering and Construction. Usually one day in duration, they take the form of employer presentations and company tours, followed by a sharing good practice session, leading to changes in curriculum content, delivery and professional practice.
As part of the West Midlands Regional PDP Network (where placements are shared amongst EBP organisations), Walsall EBP can also offer a wide variety of placements in many different business environments across the region.
Bespoke placements can also be arranged, as well as follow up work enabling business people to visit schools to work with students and staff.
