ASSIGNMENT 9

MY ANSWERS

Do you recognise the shape below from Park Street? The first ring was divided into 8 segments. A complete turn is 360 degrees. A half turn is 180 degrees. A quarter turn is 90 degrees. An eighth of a turn (one of the segments) would be 45 degrees.

2 What is the special name of a 90 degree turn?

3 What angle would you turn if you moved N to E clockwise?

4 What about if you moved N to W anti-clockwise?

5 What angle would you turn if you moved S to NW
clockwise?

6 What about if you moved NE to NW anti-clockwise?

7 If you face North and turn 90 degrees clockwise, which
direction will you end up facing?

8 If you turn 180 degrees clockwise and end up facing North,
which direction did you face to begin with?

9 If you begin by facing East and turn anti-clockwise until
you are facing North-West, how many degrees will you turn?

10 If you begin by facing South and turn clockwise until
you are facing North, how many degrees will you turn?
