Black Country Chamber

The Black Country Chamber of Commerce is a membership organisation, offering a range of business support services and networking opportunities designed to meet the needs of owners and managers.

Black Country Connexions

Connexions offers a range of guidance and support for 13 to 19 year olds, to help make the transition to adult life a smooth one.

Black Country EBL Consortium

The Black Country Education Business Link Consortium comprises the key agencies involved in the planning and delivery of education business links in the sub-region.

Construction Skills

As a Sector Skills Council, ConstructionSkills is responsible for representing employers' skill needs and for tackling the skills and productivity needs of the sector. SSCs have been set up by the government to determine how training is delivered and funded in the UK, and to implement UK-wide Sector Skills Agreements.

Education Business Links

The Government aims to provide all young people with a wide range of high quality, relevant, structured experiences of work throughout their school careers. The main function of the ebnet site is to explain how to get involved in education business link activities and the benefits of involvement.

Education Walsall

Education Walsall is the name given to the organisation working in partnership with Walsall Council in managing education services in Walsall. Education Walsall is part of Serco Group plc which has been contracted by the Council to manage school improvement and strategic management. Walsall EBP staff are employees of Education Walsall.

EBP National Network

The EBP National Network is the national voice for EBPs in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. There are over 150 other EBPs in England and Wales, and 18 in Northern Ireland. EBPs have different structures, some may be part of an LEA or Careers Service or they may be completely independent companies.

Engineering Employers' Federation (EEF)

The EEF has been serving the engineering and manufacturing sector in the region for over 100 years. In addition to offering professional, knowledgable and confidential advice it runs two training centres in the region offering skills based training, management development and health, safety and environmental training.

Government Office for the West Midlands

The Government Office for the West Midlands aims to deliver the programmes of its parent governmental departments to the benefit of the region. It works to achieve this by strengthening good, effective partnerships between key people and organisations in the West Midlands to support sustainable development and regeneration.

Learning and Skills Council

The Learning and Skills Council exists to make England better skilled and more competitive. The LSC is responsible for planning and funding high quality education and training for everyone in England other than those in universities.

pdpdirect

Professional Development Placements provide time for teachers and lecturers to focus on personal and professional development in a business environment. Placements lead to changes in curriculum content, delivery or professional practice.

Prospects Careers Services

Prospects Careers Services is one of the largest providers of careers guidance, information, recruitment and consultancy services in the United Kingdom. It has contracts with the Department for Education and Employment to deliver a range of free services for young people in the Black Country and further afield.

Visionary Investment Enhancing Walsall

VIEW has been established with the funds made available from the VAT repayment on major works carried out by the Walsall Housing Group and is managed in partnership by whg and Walsall Council. The regeneration fund is likely to invest at least £8m and will support activity to help achieve better health, education and employment for local people.

Walsall Council

Walsall Council maintains links to the 'Walsall Grid for Learning' (the interface through which all schools in Walsall will be linked to the National Grid for Learning) and 'Walsall Education Development Centre' (the base for most of Walsall LEA's In-Service teacher training).

Walsall Housing Group

Owning and managing over 20,000 properties throughout Walsall, whg are a group of non-profit making housing trusts, providing affordable, good quality homes and housing services to the local community.

Walsall Lifelong Learning Alliance

Walsall Lifelong Learning Alliance is the local Learning Partnership (LP) for Walsall, made up of representation from public authorities, education and training providers, private sector employers, and the local community and voluntary sector. WLLA works in partnership with key bodies such as Walsall MBC, Walsall Borough Strategic Partnership, BC LSC, New Deal For Communities and the Voluntary and Community Sector.

Walsall Regeneration Company

Walsall is being totally transformed. Between now and 2015 ambitious proposals will see the town centre revitalised, canalside areas reborn and acres of derelict land rejuvenated, creating jobs and a better way of life for its whole range of diverse communities. Walsall Regeneration Company, which brings together the talents and expertise of the public and private sectors, is spearheading and managing the renaissance.

Walsall Strategic Partnership

The Walsall Business section contains valuable information on business resources, grants, funding and social enterprise groups. West Midlands Education Business Links Group

The West Midlands Education Business Links Group brings together the key regional education business links organisations and includes Education Business Links Consortia, EBPs and the LSC. The group meets regularly to dicuss issues relating to the development and delivery of education business link activities.

Young Enterprise

With more than 40 years' experience, Young Enterprise is the UK's leading business and enterprise education charity. It offers a range of programmes, based on the principle of Learning by Doing, which brings volunteers from business into the classroom to work with teachers and students. Some of the programmes enable students to work together to run their own real company. Others use games, hands on activities and role-play to develop skills and capabilities for business and enterprise.

Walsall EBP is supported by Black Country Learning and Skills Council, European Social Fund, Walsall Council, Walsall Strategic Partnership and Walsall Housing Group.
