Primary Enterprise Activities
Me, My Future My Job
Designed for key stage two groups of circa 30 pupils, this programme is delivered over three half day sessions, and helps to increase pupils’ knowledge of the world of work.
They will individually identify personal skills and attributes as well as jobs they might be interested in for the future. Local employers support each session, in a variety of capacities with the final session seeing the pupils interview a business person and learn more about them as an employer.
"Doing the presentation today has given me so much confidence! I didn't want to do it at the start but then my business supporter helped us write a poem/rap and helped the boys with a dance routine and we did a really great job. I want to do it again now!"
(Year 4, Student)
"The day was very rewarding.
Pupils engaged with all the tasks and looked very smart, my compliments to the school"
Mark Fern, manager Midcounties Coop (Year 6 Interview Skills Day)
Skills Development Days
Half or full day events in school facilitated by Education Business Partnership staff and Business Supporters. These activities task pupils to work in teams and develop crucial enterprise skills, including team work, cooperation, problem solving and leadership.
Activities are all themed and can be tailored to specific topics such as fairtrade, regeneration of a local area, recycling, developing and marketing fun products, personal finance and even the environment. All the activities are practical, fast paced and fun.
Using Knex construction sets is a great way of getting younger students to engage at a very basic level with a variety of topics, including construction, design and mathematics though shapes. Education Business Partnership deliver half-day events in conjunction with local business supporters, who attend to help facilitate and act as judges to celebrate the results at the end of the day.
"The children have progressed immensely with their teamwork and problem-solving skills over the last few weeks. This has been noticed not only within these sessions but has also spilled over into school life as well. Thank you!"
Elmore Green Primary School
A lighter version of the Enterprise programmes described for secondary schools, with the delivery responsibility facilitated by the schools themselves.
The Education Business Partnership team works with the lead in your school to discuss and develop ideas for a mini-enterprise activity. The Education Business Partnership team then plans and delivers a half day enterprise event to launch your school programme and offer ongoing support during the duration of delivery if required.
The activities featured here are just examples of those developed and delivered by Education Business Partnership. We are always open to discussions about designing activities that meet particular needs and there is always the option to plan joint activities with neighbouring schools. Please contact us to discuss your needs or a particualr activity.
