Professional Development Placements
For leaders and teachers at all levels
How can we teach our young people about employment needs and demands if we don't stay in touch with our local employers?
Actively promoting placements for senior managers, teachers, teaching assistants, lecturers and CEIAG staff into industry and business environments, gives academics an opportunity to update and broaden their knowledge of specific jobs and careers as well as future labour market demands across a variety of sectors, focusing on management issues or facilitate teacher learning opportunities, curriculum/resource development and careers advice.
Education Business Partnership encourage schools to link visits to specific subject areas, such as Science, Geography, Business, Creative & Media, ICT, Health & Social Care, Manufacturing & Engineering or Construction. Usually one day in duration, visits take the form of employer presentations and company tours, followed by a sharing good practice session, helping educators to shape changes in curriculum content, delivery and professional practice.
As part of the West Midlands Regional PDP Network (where placements are shared amongst EBP organisations), Education Business Partnership can also offer a wide variety of placements in business environments across the Black Country. Bespoke placements can be arranged to meet specific curriculum needs, as well as follow up support from businesses, helping staff in the classroom, reinforcing learning or enabling student visits to the supporting businesses.
